Anders Frederik Steen Like pearls on a string 2022

Anders Frederik Steen has been making natural wines from the Ardche region in France since 2013. In 2021 the estate lost 100% of the grapes from their own vineyards to a hailstorm centered around Valgrand, and another hailstorm in 2022 left them with only 25% of a normal harvest. In response, all remaining grapes were harvested the same day; the Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, Petit Sirah and Viognier were destemmed and sorted, then blended into the directly pressed juice of Sauvignon Blanc to macerate for around a month. After dcuvage the fermenting juice was filled into an old foudre, then transferred after a year to demi-muid for another three years.
